Reserving event and study space at Science & Engineering Hall

Student Study Spaces

First-floor study spaces may be reserved by utilizing the reservation form.

Event Spaces

Individuals, groups, and departments affiliated with GW may request use of these spaces within Science & Engineering Hall, subject to availability:

  • B1167 (Lower level commons, adjacent to green wall)
  • B1220 (Lehman Auditorium (right side only) has platform seating

  • B1270 (Lehman Auditorium (left side only) has round tables

Process for scheduling an event in SEH:
Please read all the way through to the end of this section there are multiple steps to ensure a successful event.

Step 1 Complete Form:

Complete all the required information on the SEH event request form. Requests must be submitted no later than two (2) weeks in advance of the event date, though you are encouraged to submit as early as possible to guarantee maximum availability. Student groups seeking to reserve space should submit the request to the appropriate departmental contact/sponsor.

Please note the ‘Event Name’ should be specific to your event, such as ‘Engineering Forum,’ not the name of the person submitting the request. If you plan to serve food or refreshments at your event, please reserve B1167. We would prefer to keep B1220 and B1270 free of food and drinks

The SEH events team will review the submitted request and let you know if the requested space is available. You will receive an email confirmation for your request or to indicate if the space is not available

Step 2 Submit FixIt Request IF event support is necessary:

If you require event support as outlined in the Event Support section of the Facilities website, then please complete a FixIt request once you have received the email that your requested space is confirmed.  

You will receive an email with the work request # when it is approved. Event Support is a chargeable request so you must be a Fixit power user to submit this type of request. This request should be entered at least 3-4 weeks in advance. Requests submitted within 5 days of an event will not be accepted.

SEH Loading Dock and building hours Information:

Please note the loading dock hours are Monday through Friday 7AM-4PM. If your event will require the use of the dock outside of those days and times, please contact Mike Jones at the loading dock office (4-2357 or [email protected]) where you can check out a remote control fob (for the loading dock gate) and a GWorld card that will provide access to the loading dock exterior door.  The fob and GWorld card must be returned to the loading dock office on the next business day.

Building hours are 7AM-11PM Monday thru Friday8AM-8PM on Saturday and accessible by GWorld card on Sunday. If your event begins before the building opens, please contact GWPD to arrange access.
