Never flush heavy paper products down the toilet. Excess paper, paper towels, feminine products, latex condoms, and other “non-flushable” products can clog the toilet and/or the building’s sewer system. If your toilet is clogged, use the plunger provided to loosen the clog. If this does not unclog the toilet, submit a FIXit request for assistance.
When the only toilet in a room is clogged or inoperable, call Facilities Customer Service (202) 994-4706 and a staff member will respond to address the problem. If there is more than one toilet in your unit, it is not considered an emergency and residents should submit a request on FIXit.
